【⑥Bronze head with gold foil】圆顶笄发，长脸宽颐，面部贴有一层金箔，这一件圆顶金面铜人头像可谓是尊严高贵，气宇不凡。古蜀以金为尊，在2021年以前出土的50余件青铜人头像中，戴金面罩者仅有4件，均出土于2号祭祀坑，圆顶金面铜人头像就是其中一件，可见其珍贵。
Covered with gold foil, the bronze head looks dignified and extraordinary. Its round head is decorated with hairpin bundle style,and its long face and wide chin were all covered by a layer of gold foil. Gold was recognized as a symbol of status in ancient Shu civilization. Among more than 50 bronze heads unearthed before 2021, only 4 of them wore gold masks, which were all discovered in No.2 sacrifice pit. This gorgeous bronze head with gold foil was one of them. It can be seen that it is rather precious.
圆铜像通宽22.4厘米，通高45.8厘米。从铜像面部的凹线轮廓看，似乎本身已经铸有蒙至头顶、仅留顶心的连体铜面罩，而金面罩附于铜面罩之上，只有薄薄的一片，仅存右额及左脸部分。黄金面罩是用金块捶拓成金皮，以生漆调和石灰做黏合剂，然后依照人头像造型，上齐额，下包颐，左右两侧罩耳，耳垂穿孔，眼眉镂空，贴附于面具表面。铜像脑后有一发笄，上下端均残缺。
In details, this round bronze head is 22.4cm in width and 45.8cm in height. Regarding the concave outline of the face, it has originally been cast with a one-piece copper mask which covers to the top of the head except the center of the head.A thin golden mask is attached with the inner copper mask,and only the parts of the right forehead and left face still remain. The outside mask is made by golden flakes which were compressed from nugget. By using the handmade adhesive which was a mixture of raw lacquer and lime, this golden mask was firmly attached to the surface of the bronze head, covering the part between forehead and neck. The golden mask also covers both ears whichare pierced whileshows both of eyes and eyebrows as hollow looking. There is a hairpin on the back of the bronze head,and its upper and lower parts are both incomplete.

This bronze heads with gold foil from Sanxingdui has been possibly used for sacrifices. It is generally believed that such bronze statue with golden decoration represents the highest status in the society at that time, it vividly portrayed those people who could decide the life and death of other people at will and have the ability to communicate with gods.
