?play a role in something是一个很常用的固定词组，表示“在事情中扮演什么样的角色；起到什么样的作用” 。为了强调重要性可以说play an important role in something，例句如下：
They also play an important role in immune reactions.它们在免疫反应中也起着重要的作用。

Please leave me alone.请让我静一静。
?leave me alone表示“让我静一静” 。leave somebody后面加形容词可以表示使某人置于什么状态之下。
?alone强调的是客观状态，你独自一人，没有人陪伴；
?lonely则更强调内心的孤苦，可能你在现实生活中并不是一个人，但是你心里却始终觉得孤寂。有一个表达很有意思：
