美国媒体消息，3月份，美国圣地亚哥州立大学（San Diego State University）开设了一门名为“特朗普：弹劾、免职或定罪”的课程，专门讨论“如何将特朗普总统赶下台”的问题。这门课程由约翰·约瑟夫·克利里教授任教。

“Focus will be onthe two constitutional grounds: impeachment and removal (25th Amendment),and the possible charges of the independent counsel,” the course deion reads in part, as first reported by university watchdog group, Campus Reform.

The class will cover“grounds for impeachment, removal, or indictment” such as “conflict ofinterests, foreign emoluments, climate change, racism, religious bias, improper influence, nepotism, and a host of crimes, including conspiracy, falsestatements, and obstruction of justice.”

The only requiredreading is Allan Lichtman’s “The Case for Impeachment” in which the American University professor “makes the case for impeaching the 45th president of the United States ,Donald J. Trump.”

“The course presentsan overall framework of impeachment, removal, or criminal investigation of apresident and rather than focusing on President Trump, reviews all 19 impeachments in U.S. history. “Trump’s penchantfor lying, disregard for the law, and conflicts of interests are lifelong habits that will permeate his entire presidency,” Lichtman wrote. “He has ahistory of mistreating women and covering up his misdeeds. He could commit hiscrime against humanity, not directly through war, but indirectly by reversing the battle against catastrophic climate change, upon which humanity’swell-being will likely depend. His dubious connections to Russia couldopen him to a charge of treason. His disdain for constitutional restraints could lead to abuses of power that forfeit the trust of even a Republican Congress.”

But Lichtman writesthat he’s not calling for a “witch hunt,” but rather “to assess at what pointimpeachment becomes necessary to protect America ’s constitutional libertiesand the vital interests of the nation.”

Lichtman notes thatwhile former lawyers in the Obama administration formed a group to monitor Trump’s alleged violations of law and the Constitution, it’s ultimately up tothe democratic activism of the American people.
