I am from India and have been travelled to number of places in India and found the place safer except some places like Delhi. One of the most important fact about India which I came to know during my travel, is the people living here are of helping nature, trustworthy and welcoming. They show great respect for womans. Apart from these one also need to be aware about the things taking place around and be smart in order to be safe in any type of situation. I don’t have much idea about China, as i have never been there but looking forward for my next vacation in China.

最重要的是，我发现印度人乐于助人，热情好客，值得信赖。

Safer ? For women ? I have not yet visited China so i cant comment on this. But i believe most of the Chinese who comments here have not visited India either. There are many places in India which are very safe but there are many places where its dangerous for Indians too.

According to media reports and for cleanliness , we can safely assume that India is less safer. China is more cleaner and also more lets say western.(without speaking English like in India of course).

Actually it depends upon where you go, however both countries have some dangerous places to visit! Like china has tibet autonomous region and region nearby Mongolian border, while india has kashmir and some remote parts of eastern india! You can visit gujarat and maharashtra in india, which are the most safe, and in China shanghai,hongkong,guangdong can be worthy to visit!

Well, travelling in india has more Do’s and Dont’s related to safe travelling, dressing and places to travel

Compared to that, China is much safer as people do afraid the law and thus major things, concerned to a visitor – are in order.

For Indians, India is safer and for Chinese, China is safer but people of other nationality may find that they are both equally safe.

6.97 million tourists visited India in 2013, while 383.7 million tourists visited China during 2014. The numbers may be in favor of China partly because in October 2014 China surpassed USA to become the largest economy. Never the less both countries are culturally and geographically diverse and worth visiting.

Well, it depends on gender.

If you’re a female, you need to be very careful in India. I lived in Delhi for two years and I constantly felt unsafe. The difference in China is not so much personal safety, but just being scammed in general.

You’re more likely to be scammed over by a taxi driver who wont used a meter in China than a taxi driver who might just take you to a completely different location in India and try to get you to stay there.

I knew llittle about India, however,at least it seems to me, China is very safe for tourism.

First of all, gun is banned in China, haha.
