故岁今宵尽，新年明日来。今日，大年三十。人在天涯，心在咫尺。在这里，有一封中共江苏省委书记娄勤俭、江苏省省长吴政隆给海内外的江苏籍乡贤们的新春贺信，请查收！

海内外各位江苏籍乡贤、嘉宾：

Dear all Jiangsu elites,

日月开新元，天地又一春。戊戌年新春佳节即将来临，我们谨代表中共江苏省委、江苏省人民政府，代表8000万家乡人民，向你们致以诚挚的祝福，祝大家新春快乐、阖家幸福、吉祥如意！

It’s Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year again, and we are ushering in the Year of the Dog together. On behalf of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, and 80 million Jiangsu folks, we wish you a happy and prosperous new year.

我们深知，无论走多远，海内外各位江苏籍乡贤、嘉宾对家乡总有一份牵挂。在此可以欣喜地告诉大家，刚刚过去的一年，江苏大地经济发展呈现新态势，文化建设取得新进展，民生改善迈出新步伐，改革开放实现新突破，各项事业蒸蒸日上。这份沉甸甸的成绩单上，也凝聚着你们的智慧和心血。回望2017年，你们身在异乡、心系故里，以不同的方式关心支持着家乡，特别是首届江苏发展大会成功举办，海内外乡贤“约在江苏、共筑梦想”，成为我们难以抹去的“年度记忆”。

Deep inside, we all know that Jiangsu elites both home and abroad always care for and support their hometown, no matter how far they go. We are glad to share the great news that Jiangsu has achieved thriving development in all aspects in the past year of 2017. Economic development has stepped into a new phase; fresh progresses have been made in cultural construction; people’s well-being has been further ensured and improved; and major breakthroughs have been made in reform and opening-up. Your wisdom and efforts were surely behind these achievements. In the past year, you all contributed to Jiangsu’s development in certain ways, especially during the First Jiangsu Development Summit, where over 1200 Jiangsu elites gathered to give advice on the development of our hometown, creating precious memories for us all.

当前，江苏发展站到了新的起点上，全省上下正在深入贯彻落实中共十九大精神，按照习近平总书记勾画的宏伟蓝图，加快建设“强富美高”新江苏。充满希望的锦绣江苏，呼唤俊鸟临枝而栖；未来发展的美好愿景，等待我们携手绘就。“永不落幕”的江苏发展大会使我们更加紧密地联在一起，我们期盼海内外江苏人一起奋斗、一起打拼，共同推动新时代江苏改革发展，携手创造更加幸福美好的明天。

Jiangsu’s development has reached a new starting point in implementing the guiding principles from the 19

th CPC National Congress, as well as speeding up the pace of building Jiangsu into a stronger, richer, more beautiful and civilized place, under the blueprint sketched by President Xi Jinping. Vigorous and prosperous, Jiangsu is longing for elites to come back and make a better future together for the province. Jiangsu Development Summit will always be a bond between us, and we are looking forward to working together to promote Jiangsu’s reform and development in the new era, and to build up a better future.
