Hello everyone, this is teacher Chino, one of the superstar teachers here at 51Talk. Let’s begin our lesson by listening to this dialog.

嗨喽，大家好，我是Chino老师，51Talk超级外教中的一员。咱们一起通过下面的对话来开始今天的课程。

【对话】

A: You drive a hard bargain, but we want to form long-term business relationship with our customers.

A: 你讲价太狠了，可我们渴望与客户建立长期合作关系。

B: So, can you guarantee us cheaper prices if we continue to order from you?

B: 那，假如我们一直从你们这拿货，你们能保证我们最优越的价格吗？

A: Definitely. Our long-term clients always get discounts.

A: 必须的。我们的老主顾们从来都享有优惠。

B: If we made the duration of the contract for 3 years, would you give us an extra 10% discount from the overall price?

B: 如果我们签三年合同的话，你能再给我们九折优惠吗？

A: I would say 5% is the lowest we can go. I"ll get back to you tomorrow.

A: 我只能说九五折是我们最大的诚意了。我明天再跟你确认。

B: That"s fine.

B: 九五折可以。

A: Great. Hopefully we"ll be able to sign a contract tomorrow.

A: 太棒了。希望我们明天能把合同签了。

We can hear that in this conversation, A and B are negotiating on the price so they can pursue doing a business together.

A couple of words to learn here are duration and drive a hard bargain

这里有几个词学习学习一下，duration 还有 drive a hard bargain.

Drive a hard bargain

to demand a lot or refuse to give too much when you are making an agreement

在商议的过程中要求很多或者拒绝给出很多

Duration

the length of time that something continues.

（某事）持续的时间
