分析：

1. 书籍：描述更加详细，通过文字形式激发想象，引人联想。

2. 电影和视频：更加直观了解城市面貌，画面包括建筑和风景，音频包括音乐和当地语言，能全面了解。

3. 在线聊天：和人直接沟通，了解当地人对于这个地方的描述，更加贴近日常生活；能学习一种新的语言

I have to say, chatting online with local people can be the best way to learn the local culture.

It connects us with people living in the modern environment and familiar with every aspect of that culture. They might give the first hand information about their housing, transportation and customs. All these topics can depict the whole social landscape of this place. Compared with a book or a film from a certain perspective of the person who made it, conversations online with different local people can provide more comprehensive information.

Besides, through communicating with people from that culture, we get the chance to learn their language. Thus the last option works best.

TASK 2

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Class assignment that handed in after deadline should receive lower grades. Use details and examples to support your opinion.

分析：

同意：迟到本来就是违反规则了，需要接受惩罚，避免再犯；不能纵容把违规当作常事的态度，对将来有影响。

不同意：惩罚太严重，因为成绩对学生很重要；其他形式的惩罚可以实施，只要让他受到迟交作业的教训就可以了。

I will totally support this statement. It’s an effective way to reduce the number of late submission. Many students take their grade seriously coz it’s linked to graduation or college admission. If teachers can make it clear that handing in assignments late risks their score, students will definitely hurry up and avoid doing it the last minute.

Also it helps to form a good habit in their later study or career. They have to survive in modern competitions by the lesson that being punctual or punished. If it never harms them after submitting their work behind deadlines, they won’t change their wrong behaviors. So it’s necessary to be harsh sometimes.

In the past people ate food that was better for their health than they do today. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

解析：本题是一道常见的古今对比题，但是涉及的面很窄，题眼紧扣住的是“食物”而并非是“健康”这个大话题，因而增加了写作的难度。

支持1：过去的粮食和蔬菜比较少大规模使用杀虫剂和化肥，食物本身的有害残留物更少。There were fewer toxic residues left on the food.

支持2: 现代食物往往是精加工食物，在追求口感的同时损失了营养。Processed food which is popular in this day and age may sacrifice its nutrition to the taste.

支持3：现代食物，尤其是快餐，很大程度上忽视了营养搭配，将高油高糖高卡路里的食物推荐给消费者。Fast food fails to take balanced nutrition into consideration.
