The World Health Organization said it will add

“gaming disorder"

to its list of illnesses for the first time ever.



世界卫生组织称将有史以来第一次把

"游戏失调”

列作疾病。

Starting in 2018, it will be classified as a

mental health disorder

in the International Classification of Diseases.



自2018年起,在世界疾病分类中, 游戏失调将被列为一种

精神失调疾病。

Gaming disorder describes a person making gaming a priority over other life activities or interest,despite it cutting into a healthy lifestyle by habits such as lack of sleep.



该病形容一个人把玩游戏看的比生活中的任何事情都重要,影响到了健康的生活方式,如睡眠缺乏。

However, if you play video games, it doesn’t mean you have the condition. 



但是,并不是所有玩游戏的人都有此病。

According to the WHO definition,

someone must be observed for over a year

before they are diagnosed.



据世界卫生组织的定义,一个人在被确诊之前,

会被观察一年多的时间。

The organization itself spent several years studying the signs of the condition before adding it to the list. 



世界卫生组织在将此病列入名单前,也耗时数年对该病的症状做了研究。
