Winnie the Witch looked out of her window and shivered.

女巫温妮站在窗边，一边发抖一边往外看。

Her garden was covered in snow.

她的花园被白雪覆盖。

Her pond was covered in ice.

她的池塘结着厚厚的冰。

Icicles hung from roof tops.

屋檐下悬挂着尖尖的冰柱。　　

"I"m tired of winter," said Winnie.

“我烦死冬天了！”温妮说。

Wilbur came in through the cat flap.

威伯从猫洞里钻了进来。

His feet were wet, and his whiskers were frozen.

他的脚湿漉漉的，胡须都结冰了。

Wilbur was tired of winter, too.

威伯也烦透了冬天。

Suddenly, Winnie has an idea.

突然，温妮冒出了个好主意。

She stopped what she was doing,

她放下手里的活，

took down her big book of spells, and read it carefully.

搬出她的大魔法书，认真地读了起来。

Then she put on her woolly coat, her fluffy hat, her snow boots, her gloves, and her scarf.

过了一会儿，温妮穿上她的羊毛外套，把绒线帽子摁到头上，穿上雪靴，戴上手套，又系好了围巾。

She picked up her wand and she went outside.

最后，她捡起魔法棒拿在手上，朝屋外走去。　　

Wilbur already had a fur coat on, so he went outside too.

威伯一年四季都穿着长毛外套，所以他也跟着跑了出来。

He thought something exciting might happen, and he wanted to watch.

他感觉将有特别的事情发生，他想去看热闹。

Winnie shut her eys.

温妮闭上眼睛。　　

Then she stood on tiptoe, counted to ten, waed her wand five times, and shouted, ABRACADABRA!

她踮起脚尖，默数十下，把魔棒挥了五次，同时大声念出咒语：“啊吧啦咔嗒吧啦！”

And something magical happened!

不可思议的事发生了！

Above Winnie"s house the sun shone brightly.

太阳在温妮的房子上空明晃晃地照着。　

The sky was deep blue.

All the snow had disappeared.

天空碧蓝。所有的雪都消失了。　

It was no longer winter at Winnie"s house.

温妮的房子周围不再是冬天了。　

It was sunny summer.

而是阳光灿烂的夏天。　

Winnie took off her woolly coat, her fluffy hat, her snow boots, her gloves, and her scarf.温妮脱掉她的羊毛外套，脱掉她的绒线帽子，脱掉她的雪靴，她的手套，还有她的围巾。

She got her deckchair and went out in the garden to sit in the sun.

她把她的躺椅搬到花园里，坐着晒太阳。　　

"This is lovely," said Winnie.

“这真美妙，”温妮说，

"Summer is much nicer."

“夏天真是好啊。”

Wilbur lay down in the sun and purred.

威伯躺在太阳底下打呼噜。

This is lovely, he thought.

这真美妙。他想。

Summer is much nicer than winter.

夏天比冬天好多了。

All over the garden, little animals ere waking up.

花园四下里的小动物们都被弄醒了。

They had been having their winter sleep, and they were very cross.

动物们都正冬眠呢，所以他们很不高兴。　　　　　　　

They came out into the garden, yawning sleepily.

动物们睡眼惺松地打着哈欠，来到花园里。

"It"s too early for summer," they grumbled.

“夏天还早着呢，”他们抱怨，

"We want to go back to sleep."

“我们要继续睡觉。”

The flowers had been asleep under the snow.

花儿们原本在雪底下睡觉。　

They woke up and began to grow.

他们也醒了，并且开始生长。　

Up came the leaves, and then the flowers.

先长叶子，然后开花。　　

But the sun was too hot for them.

但是这阳光对他们来说太强烈了。　　

Their heads began to droop.

花儿们被晒得垂下了脑袋。　

All the lovely flowers were dying.

所有可爱的花都奄奄一息。

Winnie was worried.

温妮觉得怪不高兴的。　　

The animals and the flowers didn"t like her lovely summer.

动物们和花儿们都不喜欢她心爱的夏天。

Then she heard a very strange noise...

这时，她听到了一阵奇怪的声音……

Winnie turned around, and there behind her was a great crowd of people.

温妮转过身，她身后有一大群人。

They were running along the road towards her house.

他们正沿着大路，向她的房子跑来。

They crowded into her garden.

他们把温妮的花园挤得满满的。　

They took off their coats, their hats, their boots, their gloves, and their scarves.　　　

他们脱掉外套，脱掉帽子，脱掉靴子，脱掉围巾，脱掉手套。

They sat in the sunshine.

然后坐在太阳底下。　

They walked on Winnies"s floweres.

他们在温妮的花儿们旁边散步。

They put orange peel on Winnie"s grass.

他们把桔子皮扔在温妮的草地上。

They paddled in Winnie"s pond.

他们在温妮的池塘里玩水。

Soon there was no room for Winnie and Wilbur in the garden.

很快，花园就没有温妮和威伯的位置了。　

They went inside and looked out of the window.

他们跑进屋子，趴在窗户上往外看。　

The noise was horrible.

这吵闹声太可怕啦。　　

The mess was horrible.

这一团乱太可怕啦。　　

Winnie"s lovely summer was horrible.

温妮美妙的夏天太可怕啦。

Then Winnie heard another strange noise.

然后，温妮又听到了一种奇怪的声音。　　

A tinkling noise...

那是清脆的铃铛声……

Somebody was selling ice creams in her garden.

有人正在她的花园里卖冰淇淋。

Winnie as furious.

温妮勃然大怒了。

She grabbed her wand.

She rushed outside.

她翻出她的魔法棒，冲出了屋子。

She stamped her foot, shut her eyes, counted to ten, waved her wand five times and shouted, ABRACADABRA!

她踮起脚，闭上眼睛，默数十下，把魔棒挥了五次，大声念出咒语：“啊吧啦咔嗒吧啦！”

The sun disappeared.

太阳不见了。　

The blue sky disappeared.

蓝蓝的天空不见了。　　

And the snow began to fall.

雪又开始落下来。

The people put on their coats, their hats, their boots, their gloves, and their scarves, and rushed home.

人们穿上外套，戴上帽子，穿上靴子，系上围巾，戴上手套，跑回家。

The animals went back to bed, to finish their winter sleep. 　

动物们回到床上继续冬眠。　　

The flowers went back under the ground to wait for spring.

花儿们回到土里等着春天。

Winnie and Wilbur went back inside.

温妮和威伯回到了屋子里。

Winnie made a cup of hot chocolate and toasted a muffin.

温妮给自己冲了一杯热可可，又烤了一个小松饼吃。

Wilbur had a saucer of warm milk.

威伯喝了一碟子热牛奶。

Then Winnie snuggled into bed.

然后，温妮爬上床。　

Wilbur curled up at the foot of the bed and purred.

威伯缩在床脚打着呼噜。　

"This is warm and cosy," said Winnie.

“真是又暖和又舒坦啊，”温妮说，

"Winter is lovely too."

“冬天也很可爱。”
