So the Personal Insight questions provide Admission officers with the opptunity to get to know you as a person, beyond the GPA, test scores, and all the courses you have taken. It really are attempted to hear who you are. It just give us a much better understanding you as a person and thats really the goal to express who you are to us in the written form.

这是为招生官提供一个更加了解你的机会。除了GPA，各种标化考试成绩，和你所参与的课程以外，招生官可以通过这些听到你用您独特的声音来介绍自己。通过你的文书使招生官更好的了解你的为人。

So for freshman applicants, we are actually giving 8 options and students need to choose 4 questions to answer. We actually are asking students to really thinkg about what leadership means andcreativity and opportunity for them to explain their own backiground in shorts et words but in a very powerful way that directly answear the question.

对于大一新生来说，一共有八个话题可以选择，同学们只需要从其中选择四个话题并回答即可。通过回答这四道问题我们希望同学们可以真正的去思考领导力是什么？什么是创造力？他们也可以通过这个来讲解自己的背景故事，简短却有感染力的来回答问题。

For transfer students need to respond particular to one question regarding your major. In addtion to that, there are 3 of 7 other questions to answers that you need to choose from. Similar to the freshman applications, we want to learm more about your experience, maybe you have responsibility for working, maybe you taking advantage ofresearch at your school, leadership skill. Whatever you can bring to the table we want to hear about that.

对于转学生来说，同学们需要回到一道跟专业有关的题目，除此之外，再另选择三道题。与新生申请一样，我们希望听到你的个人经验，可能是你在工作中的责任承担，可能是你在学校里有效的利用身边的资源，领导力等。

那么问题来了，我应该选那些话题呢？话题的选择是否会对结果产生影响呢？

All the questions that you have to select from are equal value to the University of California campuses. So you select the question you feel you can provide us the greatest insight into. If you feel the questions not related to you , don"t responsed to those questions. Pick the one that the most relavent to you, your experience, yourcomplishment, your background.

每一个话题对于加州大学来说都是同等价值的。你可以选择适合你自己的那一个，如果你觉得某一个话题与你个人经验关联并不是很大，你可以选择其他话题。

There is no right or wrong answer to these questions. We are looking for your unique abilities, acomplishment background and we want to hear your unique voice.What great about these questions is that they come from the factors that we already looking for in our admission review, so no matter what you choose you already give us what we are looking for.

对于这些话题，并不存在正确与错误的答案。我们寻找的是你独特的技能和背景，我们希望听到你独特的声音。这些话题的优处就是他们已经包含了我们要找的信息，所以无论你选择那一个话题都已经为我们提供了答案。
