3月24号的这篇作文题近几年来都没有出现过，不过大家一看到这个题，心里应该是欣喜的。因为这是一个老生常谈的辩论话题，即新旧媒体之间的比较。对于亲身体验过或者说正在经历纸质媒体衰败过程的我们来说，论据几乎能信手拈来。下面这篇文章主要从便捷性和即时性两方面论证了为什么其他媒体比报纸更具有效性。

Due to the amazing momentum of technological development in Internet, newly emerging media seemly will replace the previous ones. During the transforming period, some people would prefer receiving information through traditional ways, whereas, I consider that other media would be more effective and appropriate for modern life.

First of all, given the portability of other media such as mobile phones and computers, news can be more available and abundant. As the prerequisite of extensive Internet service has been satisfied, combined with such gadgets, we could have access to various news almost whenever and wherever. As is often the case, we prefer to read news with phones during commuting period, the primary reason for which is that they take up less space and are easy to hold on crowded subways. Moreover, the topics and content of newspapers are limited to the pages, unable to provide as much information as digital instruments do. Since people usually want to keep abreast with news ranging from international events to domestic ones, other media could satisfy our demands better.

Besides, considering the excellent transmitting speed of Internet, news service today can be more instant and considerate. We all know that value of news is embodied in the instantaneousness, which other media can achieve better by virtue of satellite transmission. As a result, we could have access to latest news nearly as soon as the events happen, which diminish the importance of newspaper in our daily life. Furthermore, service on other media has been improved significantly, thus we could even watch “my news” selected by the operating system based on personal preference, preventing us from being overwhelmed in the era of information explosion.

Admittedly, newspaper was once a decent way to learn about news, and until today there are many articles on them outshining reports on other media. Ideas in these passages make the traditional media possess enduring value. However, all the procedures before publishing news finally undermine its superiority. Instead, other media can provide instant news convenient to read in fragmented time.

In brief, in consideration of the apparent limitations of newspaper, it is an inevitable that more people would choose to read news on other media, which is more suitable for modern life.
