Both players put up averages that were unfathomable given their age and mileage. Kobe put up 27/6/6 with 1 steal per game while Lebron is currently at 27/9/9 at 2 steals per game.

I’m not sure what else we will see from Lebron in the coming years. His season at age 33 is unprecedented, quite frankly. 27/9/9 is an average that most players, even HOFers, can only muster during their absolute prime. What Lebron is doing is unheard of.

I thought about some of stuff you covered in your post, but never posted it because I didn"t want to be the one saying stuff like that.

His minutes per game at 37.1 aren"t his peak, but they are opposite of his minutes reduction trend from 39 in 2009-10 to 35 in 2015-16. Also he"s played all 69 games this year with a ton of mileage on his body already. I"m hoping the Cavs can lock the 3rd and LBJ can get some rest before playoffs.

I hope LeBron joins a team next year where he won’t have such a large workload. Whether it be the Rockets or Sixers or wherever, I think it’s definitely in his best interests to cut back and focus on longevity. I’d hate to see him get hurt like Kobe.

I agree. If the Cavs don"t get him a better team with a real coach, a real center, and don"t trade the BKN pick for an all start, I hope he leaves us. He"s 34 next year and cavs fans are saying we should keep the bkn pick and ask Lebron to play alongside a developing rookie as he enters his mid-30s when Cleveland has relatively poor history of drafting and developing players. Lebron needs to go play somewhere where he doesn"t have to play 38+ minutes to win games against weak teams.
