Position Title: Beijing - SEQ CHAPTER \h \r 1Registry Supervisor, Migration Section, LE-07

Closing Date:  28th February, 2018 (At midnight UTC+1 / GMT+1)

Starting Annual Gross Salary:  RMB 179,344 (before tax and employee social insurance contributions; 13th month bonus and employer social insurance contributions are paid on top of the gross salary; salary is non-negotiable)

Work location: Beijing

Anticipated timeline: Tests and interviews will be held in March 2018. Position is expected to be filled before the end of May 2018. 

Area of selection:

This position is open to external applicants residing in China who are able to work or to obtain a work permit in China and employees occupying an indeterminate or term position in China Missions who meet all of the essential qualifications and whose applications are received by the closing date.

Short-listed candidates should be able to participate in tests and/or interview in Beijing at own expense. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Beijing at their own expense.



Job summary:  

Under the general supervision of a Canadian based employee, the incumbent manages the operation of the Registry team; controls and coordinates the electronic and paper file creation process for applications; controls and coordinates the file management system for the Migration Section, including archiving and file destruction; coordinates the production of records for purposes such as judicial review and access to information; ensures that all incoming and outgoing correspondence is handled efficiently and appropriately; selects, trains and usually supervises 15 registry staff or more; compiles and collates data and statistical information needed for efficient program operations and for special projects; performs other duties as required.



Mandatory requirements:

Education:

·Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university

Language:

·High Proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking)

Experience:

·Minimum two (2) years of experience in client service

·Experience working on a PC in a network environment, including experience using word processing and spreadsheet applications

Abilities/skills:

·Ability to effectively lead and direct staff

·Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with competing priorities

·Ability to effectively plan and organize work flow

·Ability to adapt quickly to procedural and technological changes

·Ability to work with minimum supervision

Asset criteria:

Preferred standing may be given to those candidates who also meet the following:

Language: 

·Proficiency in Mandarin (reading, writing and speaking)

Experience:

·Six (6) months or more of work experience in supervising staff in an international milieu in the past 5 years

·Experience working in a visa office

Knowledge:

·Knowledge of Canadian visa office operations

·Knowledge of IRCC electronic processing system (GCMS)



Organizational Needs:

Conditions of Employment

·Ability to obtain and maintain a valid working authorization in China. Per Chinese regulations, the Embassy / Consulates can only facilitate working visas for Canadian citizens

·Ability to obtain and maintain a valid “Reliability Status” security clearance

Operational Requirement:

·Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice as required

·Able to travel domestically and internationally as required
