“我外孙放学还早，我在这里先看会报。其实他都十几岁了，哪里还用我接他？我女儿让我来接他，无非是给我找点事情做罢了。我家在惠州惠阳，我女儿家在香港，我是来探亲的，住一下就回去了。在这里住不惯啊，房子太小了，女儿女婿住一间，我和外孙挤一间。我在家独栋独院，盖的是三层小楼，一层就一百多个平米，这里跟我家怎么能比？！”

“中介给我找的，然后我就来了，这是我第一次到香港来。我老板是华人，是个医生。我负责做家务，照顾孩子、煮饭、打扫卫生，所有活儿全包。合同是两年，两年期满，我就回去。每个月我能休息四天，一周一天。有时候休周日，有时候休周六。我也不知道休哪天，因为是老板娘决定的，她说我休息，我就能出去。通常我会去佛教寺庙，香港只有一座斯里兰卡寺庙，在九龙，斯里兰卡人专属寺庙。所有斯里兰卡人休息日都会到那儿去，然后我就能见见老乡，会会朋友。我有时候去，有时候不去。像今天我就不去，所以我就坐在这里，这就是我的假期，假期我就这样休息。”

“My agency find me for the job, then I come, it’s my 1st time come here. My employer is Chinese, a doctor. I do domestic work, taking care of children, cooking, cleaning, all. The contract is 2 year, 2 year finish, I go home. Every month 4 days I can have a rest, 1 week 1 day. Sometime Sunday, sometime Saturday. I don’t know, because my madam decide my holiday, madam said go, I go. Usually I go to Buddhist temple, only 1 Sri Lanka temple have here, in Kowloon, for Sri Lanka people only. All the Sri Lanka people go there in holiday, so I can meet the people from my country there, also my friend there. Sometime go, sometime sit here. Today I don’t go there, so I sit here, this is my holiday.”

“来香港真挺好，香港工资高，这里挣钱多，斯里兰卡挣钱少。唯一难受的是我女儿，她6岁了，我来时她哭个不停，她不想让我来，想跟我一起来，但是没有，想想心里就难受。现在一年过去了，还有一年呢。我盼望着完成合同，尽快回去。到时候我肯定走了，我不喜欢待在这儿，可能我老公也不喜欢我继续待在这儿。到时候他们集中把薪水给我，我就有很多很多钱了。我们会用这笔钱给我们家盖一栋房子。我们存了点钱，但是不够，我来香港打两年工，钱就能凑够。等钱一到手，房子就会有。”

“Come to HK is good for me, because HK is good to make money, the salary is good here, in Sri Lanka job salary very small. The only hard is my daughter, she is 6 years old, when I come to HK, she cried, cried, she don’t like I come here, she want to come together with me, but don’t, so sad. Now 1 year finished, still 1 year. I’m looking forward to finish my contract and go back to my country very much. Sure I’ll go back, I don’t like to stay here any more, maybe my husband don’t like too. They pay many many salary, then I have many many money. We’ll use the money to build a new house for my family. We have money, but not enough, because I come here for 2 year, then enough. When I have the money, then build the house no problem.”
