【51访学|| 加州大学旧金山分校生物学方向，访学招聘】ResearchprojectsinvolveinterdisciplinaryandcollaborativeeffortsacrosstheDanSouthworth,DavidAgardandStanleyPrusinerlabs,supportedbyanNIHProgramProjectgranttostudythestructuralbasisofamyloid/prionpropagationinneurodegenerativediseases.
Projectfocusareasinclude:Developmentofcryo-EMaffinity-gridtechnologiesforstructuredeterminationofamyloidfilaments.Determiningthestructuralbasisoftau,Abetaandsynucleinprionpropagation.CharacterizationoffilamentultrastructureincellsbyCLEMandFIB-SEMtomography.
TheINDcryo-EMresourcesattheUCSFMissionBaycampusincludeaTitanKrioswithphaseplate,energyfilterandGatanK3,a200keVGlacioswithaGatanK2,andaTalosL120C.
AsapartofUCSFCenterforAdvancedCryo-EM,additionalstate-of-the-artcryo-EMresourcesareavailableincludingaTitanKrios,GlaciosandTalosArcticaaswellasaFIB-SEMfacilityscheduledtobeoperationallaterthisyear.
Theappointeewillbeapartofaworld-renownedresearchandtrainingenvironmentatUCSFwithopportunitiestopresentworkandinteractroutinelywithINDinvestigatorsandcryo-EMcommunityacrossUCSFandtheBayArea.
