HuaweiandHaidilao,aChinesehotpotrestaurantchain,kickedoffthenewserviceearlierthismonth,enablingpeopletogatheronlineviacloudservicesandsmartscreens.It'savailablein57Haidilaorestaurantsinmorethan40cities,includingShanghai,BeijingandlocationsinThailandandMalaysia.Thehotpotchainhasmorethan1,000storesinChinaandabroad.
Thecombinationofpeoplerefrainingfromreturningtotheirhometownsfortheholidayandlimitsonthenumberofpeoplewhocandinetogetherinrestaurantspresentstheperfectopportunityforclouddining,Haidilaoofficialssaid.
Theremoteclouddinnerservice,basedonHuaweiCloud’svideoconferenceservice,canbeaccessedonsmartscreensaslargeas86incheswithinteractivefeaturesandhighdefinition.Userscanalsoaccesstheservicewiththeirsmartphones.
Inadditiontothecloudsystem,Haidilaowillbeefupitsdeliveryservicesduringtheholidayforpeoplediningintheirhomes,apracticethegovernmentisencouragingduringthepandemic.
